Members of NZAAHD have a voice to government about issues impacting on them and young people.
We keep you informed on policy debates and initiatives being developed by government and other decision-makers.
We also:
- Make submissions
- Get involved in policy-making
- Positively advocate on key issues our membership have identified (e.g. access to health care for young people)
- Act as a voice to media
We invite you to get involved in our position statements, submissions, and sometimes media work.
As a member, you receive regular invites from us to get involved.
Check the Submissions page for details.
Get involved in your local NZAAHD branch or one of our National Networks or contact us directly to contribute to policy submissions.
"I have always appreciated the flow of information, the opportunity to consult and feel connected, the passion, skill and expertise of responses I have received, the quality of advocacy, policy and submissions work" - Andrae Gold, Health Promoter
"The voice you provide for adolescent issues and the facilitation of information, training opportunities, advocacy etc, is relied on heavily by the sector." Deb Fraser - Kaitiaki, Mirror Services
"NZAAHD is in a unique position to provide an independent voice on youth health and wellbeing. This is particularly important for people in the regions who rely on NZAAHD to disseminate information on national issues as well as providing a channel for information to flow from the regions to national forums." Jan Pfeifer - Southland District Health Board
