A wide range of people work with young people, and they do so in very varied roles. These include teachers, youth workers, young adult librarians, adolescent health staff, police youth aid and many more. The Nurses’ Association hold a gathering for school nurses at their conference. There is also an Auckland-based School Nurses Group

Security guards

Career development educators work with young people to help them build core competencies for life. Career Development Association of NZ

Youth justice
People working in youth justice have their own conference. The Youth Court produces a regular newsletter informing and linking this sector. See also the youth justice portal

Youth librarians
Every two years youth librarians gather. See Library and Information New Zealand. Public libraries as partners in youth development: Lessons and voices from the field is usfeul guide. A recent resource for increasing youth specific skills is Young people & libraries: Self paced learning kit.

Youth health workers
The Society for Youth Health Professionals Aotearoa New Zealand was established in 2007. It includes doctors, nurse and specialists.
